This Privacy Policy explains how Planet Travel collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Planet Travel app and related services.

Information We Collect

We collect the information needed to provide trip planning, collaboration, account, and support features. This may include:

• Account information: email address, user ID, username, display name, authentication status, and related account details.
• User content: trips, destinations, dates, itinerary items, notes, hotels, flights, travelers, logistics, votes, collaborator information, invitations, and other information you choose to add to a trip.
• Place search information: search terms, selected places, categories, general trip location context, and results returned through place search features.
• Technical and usage information: information needed to operate, secure, debug, and improve the app, such as error information, timestamps, device or browser environment, and basic service logs.
• Support information: information you choose to provide when contacting us for help or privacy requests.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Create and manage user accounts.
• Save, sync, display, and organize trips and trip details.
• Enable collaboration, invitations, voting, and shared trip access.
• Provide place search and add-place features.
• Maintain app security, prevent abuse, troubleshoot issues, and improve reliability.
• Respond to support, privacy, deletion, and legal requests.
• Comply with applicable laws, regulations, platform rules, and enforce our rights.

Sharing and Collaboration

Planet Travel is a collaborative trip planning app. If you invite someone to a trip, or accept an invitation to a shared trip, people with access to that trip may be able to see trip content, itinerary details, votes, notes, collaborators, and related information for that shared trip. Only share trip information with people you trust.

Service Providers

We use service providers to operate the app. These providers may process information as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their own terms and privacy practices. Providers may include:

• Supabase for authentication, database, storage, backend functions, security, and infrastructure.
• Google Maps Platform / Google Places for place search and place information.
• Apple for App Store distribution, TestFlight, app review, device and platform services, and related Apple services.
• Vercel or hosting providers if a web version, support page, or privacy page is hosted publicly.

No Sale of Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We do not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use the app to track users across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes.

Location Information

Planet Travel may use destination names, place searches, and trip locations that you enter into the app. The app does not require continuous GPS tracking to function. If a future version requests device location permission, we will update this Privacy Policy and request permission through the operating system where required.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain accounts, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and protect the app and users. Some backup, security, audit, or legal records may remain for a limited period after deletion where permitted or required by law.

Account Deletion and Privacy Requests

You may request deletion of your account or personal information by contacting us at travelplanetsupport@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request before deleting information. Deleting an account may permanently remove trips, collaborator access, invitations, votes, and other app content associated with that account, subject to legal, security, backup, and abuse-prevention needs.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. However, no app, network, database, or internet transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for using a strong password, protecting your account credentials, and only sharing trip information with trusted collaborators.

Children's Privacy

Planet Travel is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to review and delete it where required.

International Users

Information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. Privacy laws may differ from those in your location. By using Planet Travel, you understand that information may be transferred to and processed in these locations where permitted by law.

Your Choices

• You can choose what trip content you add to the app.
• You can choose who you invite to shared trips.
• You can stop using shared trips or remove content where app features permit.
• You can request account or data deletion by contacting us.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of Planet Travel after an update means you acknowledge the updated policy.
